Extraordinary edition of MECSPE, which reconfirms itself as a tangible meeting point for Digital Factory 4.0

The 16th edition of MECSPE, organised by Senaf and held at Fiere di Parma (Parma Exhibition Centre) from 23 to 25 March, has reached its goal: to confirm itself as a point of reference for the manufacturer industry and Digital Factory 4.0.

The numbers are proof: the turnout was 45,817 visitors with 2,051 companies present over 105,000 m2 of fairground surface area.

For the last three editions, MECSPE has stayed one step ahead of technological trends, as shown by interest aroused in the core of the three days: the area dedicated to “Digital factory 4.0” in Pavilion 4 where, through a concrete and pragmatic approach, it was possible to experience the state of the art of the new “manufacturing made in Italy”, admiring how an ever-more efficient and interconnected manufacturing industry is developed from the integration of enabling technologies.

The segment shows positive signs: this is confirmed by the numbers of the MECSPE Observatory, distributed for the occasion on a significant sample of Italian mechanical and subcontracting companies. The positive trend is also dictated by government incentives as a result of the Calenda Plan, which estimates an increase in the amortisation rate from the current 140% to 250% for investments in solutions for Industry 4.0.

“We are currently in a business climate in which companies see the light at the end of the tunnel – declared Emilio Bianchi, General Manager of Senaf. – After a negative period, they have already obtained positive results in 2016. Fifty per cent of those interviewed have, in fact, declared that in 2017 they will have an increase of more than 10% in turnover: confident about this economic trend, entrepreneurs can continue investing in research and development that is constantly oriented more towards the model of Digital Factory 4.0 and focusing on people.”
