March 5–7, MECSPE 2025 returns to BolognaFiere: full immersion in innovation, sustainability, and networking for manufacturing

More than 2,000 exhibitors, 92,000 square meters of exhibition space, and a packed program of events to encourage meetings between different stakeholders and lead businesses in the green and digital transition. Concurrently, METEF, the international aluminum expo.

Bologna, March 3, 2025 – The manufacturing industry is waiting for one of the most anticipated industry events: March 5–7, 2025, BolognaFiere will host the 23rd edition of MECSPE, the benchmark exhibition for the manufacturing sector, organized by Senaf. With more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, 13 topic-based halls and more than 92,000 square meters of exhibition space, MECSPE is a unique opportunity to explore the latest technological innovations, engage with industry experts and discover new opportunities for growth.

The 2025 edition will feature a strong focus on ecological and digital transition. Thanks also to the Transition 5.0 Plan, which with €6.3 billion in incentives pushes the adoption of advanced technologies, MECSPE will offer a privileged space to discuss topics as relevant as ever such as artificial intelligence, collaborative robotics, digital twin and additive manufacturing, key tools for improving production efficiency. There will also be a major focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, without neglecting the importance of people and their education.

The event, which will also be held in conjunction with METEF, the event dedicated to the aluminum supply chain, will provide an important platform for experts and companies to discuss decarbonization strategies and opportunities to improve energy efficiency in the aluminum industry.

The exhibition will open with the presentation of data from the MECSPE Observatory, with up-to-date data on the state of the Italian manufacturing industry and featuring representatives of MIMIT (The Ministry of Enterprises and Made In Italy), industry excellences and other key stakeholders.

With a program built around the three pillars of growth—education, digitization and sustainability—MECSPE 2025 will be a real opportunity for companies and professionals to explore the innovations that are transforming the manufacturing industry. The expo will offer tools and solutions for industry challenges with demonstration areas, thematic insights and discussion spaces. A rich program of special initiatives will round off the exhibition experience; here are the highlights:

  • The Aluminum Energy Summit, organized as part of METEF, will be the focal point for delving into decarbonization strategies for the aluminum supply chain;
  • The Competence Center area, to facilitate the meeting between exhibitors, visitors and the Competence Center, with a focus on Transition 5.0;
  • The Forum AI will provide an opportunity to discuss the benefits of artificial intelligence in the manufacturing industry;
  • The Electronic Production Line, a new demonstration area totally dedicated to an electronic production line that will showcase the latest in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS);
  • The MECSPE LAB – Innovation Space, that will host this year the Start Up Factory (a hub designed for the most innovative start-ups in the field of IoT, AI, augmented/virtual reality and ESG) and the MECSPE Young & Career area, a space designed for young people and their professional future
  • The Percorso Obiettivo Sostenibilità (Sustainability Goal Pathway), which will give visibility to companies that have adopted eco-friendly production strategies;
  • Piazza del Vantaggio Fiscale by Edenred (Tax Advantage Square by Edenred), an information area on the tax benefits of corporate welfare solutions;
  • Piazza MECH by Clust-ER MECH (MECH Square by Clust-ER MECH), dedicated to mechatronics and motor engineering with the support of more than 130 companies in the industry;
  • Piazza Progettazione e Design by MATERIOTECA (Planning and Design by MATERIOTECA Square), a focus on innovative materials with leading partners and live demonstrations;
  • Solution Award – 10th edition, which recognizes the best industrial or service robotics application made by Italian companies;
  • Unità Dimostrativa Piazza TMP dal granulo al prodotto finito (TMP Demonstration Unit Square from the granule to finished product:)a complete plastic processing chain that, starting from the granule produced directly from the die, is used in the injection molding machine by simultaneously molding two pieces with different plastic materials to compose a design object for use in our homes;
  • The AIDAM Village, a technological area representative of the Italian mechatronics industry.
  • The ASCOMUT Village with the “Champions of Synergies” project will present successful case histories in business-to-business collaboration.

“The 2025 edition of MECSPE will be a key moment for the manufacturing sector, in a context in which innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand,” says Maruska Sabato, MECSPE project manager. “Our goal is to offer companies concrete tools to address the ecological and digital transition, supporting them in adopting advanced technological solutions and creating synergies within the supply chain. MECSPE confirms itself as a benchmark for the industry, a unique opportunity to explore new production models that are more efficient, sustainable and competitive”

In a constantly changing industrial scenario, MECSPE 2025 confirms itself as the must-attend event for those who want to be protagonists of innovation and growth in manufacturing, an ideal meeting point for professionals, companies, and stakeholders who want to stay up-to-date on industry trends and find new business opportunities.

The next edition of MECSPE will be held March 5–7, 2025, in conjunction with METEF.
